Biography
Birmingham born Judith Le Breuilly is a former Young Artist at the National Opera Studio. She graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2018 studying with Margaret Izatt, and the Royal College of Music in 2020 studying with Dinah Harris, Caroline Dowdle and Simon Lepper. She was a finalist in the 2020 Kathleen Ferrier Awards, was awarded first place in the Govenors’ Recital Prize and Jean Highgate scholarship for singers at the RCS, and was a finalist in the Lies Askonas Competition at RCM.
She has recently been in Dubai covering various roles in Al Wasl by Mohammed Fairouz with Welsh National Opera for the Dubai Expo 2020. Other operatic roles include Zweite Dame - Die Zauberflöte (Hurn Court Opera), Lia - L’Enfant Prodigue, Ernesto - Il Mondo Della Luna (RCMIOS), Various roles, Scoring a Century (British Youth Opera). Judith has also sung the roles of Donna Elvira - Don Giovanni, Dorabella - Cosi fan Tutte, Rosina - Il Barbiere Di Siviglia, Hänsel - Hänsel und Gretel, Hermia - A midsummer night’s dream, Dinah - Trouble in Tahiti (NOS), Popova - The Bear, Florence Pike - Albert Herring, Lady Angela - Patience (RCM) and Idamante - Idomeneo (RCS) in scenes.
Judith has been a soloist in Verdi’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petite Messe Sollenelle and has worked for the Waverley Singers, Buckingham Choral Society, the Royal College of Music, the Glasgow Cathedral Choral Society and The Redditch Orchestra.
Judith has been supported by the RCS Trust, the Josephine Baker Trust, the William Gibbs Educational Trust, and was a Helen Marjorie Tonks Scholar at RCM, her time at NOS was supported by the Carne Trust.
